We’re a fully remote team building and operating Chatway, a SaaS product used by businesses worldwide with thousands of 5-star reviews. We’re looking for a Back-End API Developer experienced with Laravel who enjoys solving real scalability and data problems, not just implementing tickets.
If you have worked on large-scale projects, handled millions of records, and have expertise in performance tuning, asynchronous processing, and efficient API design, we want to hear from you!
We are a bootstrapped and profitable SaaS company. Many engineers here have been with us 5–6+ years, and we hire carefully because we build long-term teams, not short projects.
What you’ll work on
- Develop new features and debug existing ones
- Collaborate with other developers to improve system reliability and UX
- Build reusable components and libraries
- Write maintainable, clean code following internal standards
- Experiment and iterate on features used by real customers
- Stay up to date with relevant technologies
Requirements
- 4-5+ years of development experience with Laravel. Deep expertise in Laravel’s ecosystem, including Eloquent ORM, Middleware, Service Providers, Policies, Gates, and Custom Commands.
- You should be comfortable debugging production issues independently and reasoning about performance problems, not just implementing predefined tasks.
- Experience with real-time communication (Pusher, Laravel Echo, Socket.io, etc.)
- Databases: Strong SQL skills, indexing, query optimization, stored procedures, and JSON-based queries in MySQL/PostgreSQL.
- Familiarity with AWS
- Third-Party APIs: Experience integrating Shopify, Wix, Stripe, Twilio, and others
- Queues & Background Jobs: Hands-on experience with Redis queues, Horizon, and event broadcasting.
- Security Best Practices: Knowledge of JWT, OAuth, CSRF protection, SQL injection prevention, and XSS handling.
- GIT & DevOps: Experience with Git workflows, Docker (optional), and CI/CD pipelines.
- Testing: Experience with PHPUnit, Pest, API testing tools (Postman, Insomnia), and mocking services.
