Accounts Manager at UpdraftPlus

Job Title: Accounts Manager

Location: Remote (with one day per month in the office, based in Newport)

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Accounts Manager to join our team and contribute to the financial health of our organization. Key Responsibilities: 

  • Financial Management: Oversee and manage all accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
  • Invoicing & Billing: Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, and follow-up on outstanding receivables.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Prepare and manage financial forecasts, budgets, and reports for management review.
  • Tax & Compliance: Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, including VAT submissions and annual tax filings.
  • Reporting: Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports for senior management.
  • Cash Flow Management: Monitor cash flow, prepare financial analysis, and recommend improvements where necessary.
  • Audit Preparation: Assist in preparing for annual audits and liaising with external auditors.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements in accounting processes, including automation and software updates.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to ensure financial data is accurately recorded and that budgeting needs are met.
  • Communication: Provide regular financial updates and recommendations to management, ensuring clear and concise communication.
    • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in an accounting or financial management role.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Qualifications: ACCA, CIMA, or similar accounting qualification preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, or similar) and MS Excel.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain high levels of accuracy.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to analyze financial data and provide strategic recommendations.
  • Self-Starter: Comfortable working independently in a remote environment while staying motivated and organized.

 Working Conditions:
